Black Jack recently talked about Tom Cruiseand wants to do another comedy with him. The two continued working tropical thunder together, which is a film that saw Cruise take on the role of crazed movie executive Les Grossman.
Cruise completely blew people away with that performance because it was unlike anything that had ever been done before. During an interview with Total Film Jack Black spoke about what Cruise brought to the role, saying:
“Tom Cruise was unrecognizable as Les Grossman. I think he was really channeling some angst towards some studio executives who will remain nameless,” says Black.
“I just didn’t know he had that edge in him. I guess he’d done some comedy but not like this, with such broad strokes. And not a character to completely disappear into.”
After that movie, I wanted to see Cruise go into making more comedies, but he never did. It would just be fun to see him do something completely crazy again. If he does, Jack Black will want to team up with him! The actor said:
“It makes you wonder when he’s going to go away and do some more comedy. If he does, he should let me know. I’m jumping aboard that choo-choo train.”
Tom Cruise and Jack Black star in a crazy comedy together!? That would be so much fun! Cruise has so many projects lined up, though, that who knows if he’ll ever make another comedy.
