Tim Burton has found his next film project with a reimagining of the classic 1958 film Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman. Gone girl scribe and Sharp objects Emmy nominee Gillian Flynn is writing the screenplay for the film.
This looks like it’s going to be a fun and awesome project for Burton to tackle! The film centers on a wealthy woman who encounters an alien spaceship and is exposed to a mysterious substance. After this encounter, Nancy begins to grow uncontrollably, reaching a height of fifty feet.
Her transformation causes chaos and panic in her small town as she seeks revenge against those who harmed her. The film is full of campy special effects and is a fun sci-fi film. The film also offered social commentary on gender roles and power dynamics.
It will be interesting to see what Burton ends up doing with this film project. I have no doubt that it will provide enjoyable entertainment.
