Diablo Cody wants to make a sequel to JENNIFER’S BODY

For those of you who enjoyed the 2009 high school horror film Jennifer’s bodyyou will be happy to know that the writer of the film Diablo Cody he’s not done with the franchise and wants to make a sequel.

Megan Fox stars in the film as a possessed high school cheerleader who goes on a monstrous killing spree killing her male classmates. Given how the social climate has changed over the years, the film is now seen as a feminist revenge film ahead of its time.

During a recent interview with Bloody-Disgusting, Cody reflected on the film, sharing his thoughts:

“I mean, it got progressively happier for me. At first I was like, obviously I was excited about it, but I was also a little salty because I remember thinking, well, where was this audience when the movie came out. It was a critical and commercial failure. I was quite humbled to be completely honest with you. It was a tough experience seeing that movie come out. It was hard for me, it was hard for Megan [Fox]… [then] people suddenly started talking about it as if it were a good movie, which I had always thought.

“At first I just thought, oh where was this audience when I needed them and then I realized there were like… seven. And then some people who maybe didn’t appreciate it at the time came along and now I’m like, there’s no salt, now I’m just happy.

Cody went on to say that if she were given the opportunity to make a sequel, she would gladly do so. She said enthusiastically:

“YES! I want to make a sequel. I’m not done with Jennifer’s Body. I just need to find… I need to collaborate with people who believe in it as much as I do and that hasn’t happened yet. I need someone who believes in it and that he has a billion dollars.”

Right now, Cody is out promoting his new movie, Lisa Frankenstein. He is also currently working on another horror screenplay and, about it, he said:

“I have an unfinished one that I need to finish that I think is definitely the most blunt, overt, gory, scary horror I’ve ever written. I’m really proud of the concept and just have to push myself over the finish line.

Did you like it Jennifer’s body, would you be willing to watch a sequel? Looks like Cody has been keeping busy, though. I’m curious about this new horror film he’s working on.
