KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON star Lily Gladstone to star in Charlie Kaufman’s THE MEMORY POLICE

The best part of The Flower Moon Assassins was the performance delivered by Lily Gladstone. She was amazing in the movie and just got her next big movie project. She is set to star in an adaptation of the 1994 science fiction novel The memory policewhich was written by Charlie Kaufmann and directed by Reed Morano.

The synopsis of Yoko Ogawa’s novel reads: “On an unnamed island off an unnamed coast, objects are disappearing: first hats, then ribbons, birds, roses, until things become much more series. Most of the island’s inhabitants are unaware of these changes, while those few with the power to recall lost items live in fear of the draconian Memory Police, intent on ensuring that what has disappeared remains forgotten.

“When a young woman struggling to maintain her writing career discovers that her publisher is in danger from the Memory Police, she hatches a plan to hide him under the floorboards. As fear and loss close in on them, they cling to her writing as one last way to preserve the past. A surreal and provocative fable about the power of memory and the trauma of loss, The Memory Police is a stunning new work from one of the most exciting contemporary authors writing in any language.

It sounds like it will be an interesting project for both Kaufman and Gladstone. The story definitely seems to fit perfectly with the interests of Kaufman, who has made films like Eternal light of the pure mind, AdaptationAND Being John Malkovich.
