Creepy trailer for the puppet-themed stop motion horror film STOPMOTION

Here’s a trailer for IFC and Shudder’s creepy-looking horror thriller titled Stopmotionand it appears to contain a rather disturbing dark and twisted story.

Aisling Franciosi (The nightingale, last voyage of the Demeter) plays Ella Blake, “a stop-motion animator who is struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother. Suddenly alone in the world, she embarks on the creation of a macabre new puppet movie, which soon becomes the battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s mind begins to fracture, the characters in her animated film take on a terrifying life of their own, and the unleashed power of her imagination threatens to destroy her.”

Scott Shooman, head of AMC Networks’ motion picture group, said in a statement: “IFC and Shudder are thrilled to bring Robert Morgan’s captivating live-action/animation hybrid to audiences around the world. Stopmotion is excellent as it weaves unique psychological horror with incredible visuals.

He added: “The film joins the ranks of critically acclaimed titles like Mad God and The Wolf House – pioneering the way we perceive stop-motion in horror. We are thrilled to distribute Morgan’s first feature film for theatrical release and presence on our streaming platform, Shudder.

The film was directed by Robert Morgan, who said: “IFC’s superb catalog speaks for itself, and the fact that Shudder has embraced the weirder and more distinctive side of horror cinema means this is the perfect home for my first feature film. I’m excited to collaborate with them and I’m excited to share Stopmotion with the public very soon.”

Stopmotion even stars Stella Gonet AND Tom Yorkand will be released in theaters on February 23 before heading to Shudder on May 31, 2024.
