Some new information has emerged about Lucasfilm’s plans Star Wars: New Jedi Order film, which you will see Margaret Ridley return to the role of Rey Skywalker. The project is currently being written by Peaky Blinders Creator Steven Knight.
Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider has now offered an update on the project in his newsletter, and one of the more interesting details he shared was that Rey’s return may not be for just one film. Sneider says he heard Rey might take that into consideration as well Shawn Levyit is mysterious Star Wars film, which he will most likely start working on when he’s finished Deadpool 3.
Sneider goes on to say that he believes Rey’s film will be the second big screen outing after that The Mandalorian and Groguand which will probably hit theaters around Christmas 2026. He also says James Mangold‘S Dawn of the Jedi the film will follow in 2027, and Dave Filoni’S New Republic The film could even be in 2028.
Ridley’s salary day for the film has also been revealed, and it’s rumored that he will earn a cool $12.5 million. Sneider also noted this on The Hot Mic New Jedi Order it could be set in a different timeline with an older version of Rey. There were previous reports that Damon Lindelof had written a script for that and that the original plan was to cast Helen Mirrenor someone with that status, in the role before Ridley signed.
We’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out for this film. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct the New Jedi Order, which will be set fifteen years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. All we know about the story so far is that Rey will be a “powerful Jedi master” who runs her own training academy.
