Trailer for Glen Powell and Richard Linklater’s dark comedy HIT MAN

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Richard Linklater’S (Boyhood, dazed and confused, School of Rock) next film Hitman. The film is a true crime killer comedy starring Top Gun: nonconformist‘S Glen Powell. I like Linklater movies and this movie looks like it could be a fun movie!

Hitman follows Powell as Gary Johnson, “a part-time teacher who works as a mysterious gunman for hire. But there’s a problem with hiring him to free a cheating spouse or abusive boss: He works for the police. When he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman (Adria Arjona ) trying to escape from an abusive husband, he finds himself becoming one of his false personas, falling in love with the woman and flirting with becoming a criminal himself.

Linklater adapted the screenplay with Powell from a Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth. Linklater and Powell previously worked together on the 2016 film Everyone wants some and Netflix’s animated sci-fi drama Apollo 10 1/2.

The film has been described as “a real-life philosophical romantic noir comedy about the world’s most unlikely undercover agent.” The review states that Powell has “an unusual leading man vibe” and “looks like Guy Pearce punctuated by Ryan Gosling, with a slightly goofy smile that radiates the purest sincerity.”

Hitman even stars Austin Amelio, Straight line AND Molly Bernard. It will be released on Netflix on June 7.
