With Netflix’s Marvel TV shows now officially canon in the MCU, fans have been wondering if we might see any of the characters from The Defenders appear in Daredevil: Born Again . I never thought we would, but a new report has surfaced that Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will not appear in the series.
With Daredevil: Born Again currently under creative review, there will be a lot of speculation about the characters we might see in it. But, according to the Marvel scoop Daniele Richtmannthere are no plans for Luke Cage, Iron Fist or Jessica Jones to appear in the Disney+ series.
I’m fine with not seeing any of those characters on the show, but it’s been confirmed Jon Bernthal he’s returning to play The Punisher. We might even see Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, which would be awesome!

The new creative team behind it Daredevil: Born Again includes co-directors Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorheadand have indicated their commitment to providing a high quality series. Dario Scardapanethe executive producer of both seasons of The Punisher, he directs the series as showrunner. Chris Ord AND Matt Cormanthe original showrunners are also executive producers, ensuring continuity and expertise in creating the show’s narrative.
D’Onofrio recently offered an update, saying, “We’re having a really good time right now. We’re getting back on our feet. We’ll start soon, hopefully sooner rather than later, and Charlie [Cox] and I feel like the atmosphere is right.”
He added: “I think all the powers out there that control the whole creative world of the MCU, also believe that we’re in the right place right now. I have to say, it’s really lucky. I mean, my favorite series.” so far there’s been Moon Knight and Loki, and we have these guys as directors, and so it’s very fortunate. And we have Dario [Scardapane], who is an incredible writer who wrote The Punisher. We’re in a very happy place right now.”
Daredevil: Born Again it is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.
