Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, part one) has an exciting new project coming up where she will provide the voice of iconic video game character Lara Croft in Netflix’s upcoming anime series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. This is a role Atwell is perfect for and during a recent interview with CB, she spoke about the series and teased her preparation for the series and her voice, saying:
“The scripts are so beautiful and so funny. And I also think I had so much practice and preparation on how to sustain the level of activity and energy with just your voice playing Captain Carter in this way, that it made me understand in good position to say, “Here’s how you, as a voice-over, what it takes, to be confined to a small space and not be seen, but to rely totally on the voice to tell this story and awaken other people’s imaginations.” yes, one thing definitely helped feed the other.”
The series will follow the adventures of Lara Croft and is set after the events of the video game reboot trilogy. This is the description that was shared for the project:
Lara Croft, one of gaming’s most iconic adventurers, makes her anime debut in an all-new series. Picking up the events of the reboot trilogy of the hit Tomb Raider video game, the animated series will chart the globetrotting heroine’s latest, greatest adventure. Twenty-five years after the release of her first game, Lara continues to explore new territory.
The anime was written and produced by Tasha Huo. Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard BlissAND Jacob Robinson will also oversee the series as producers.
