Marvel Studios is already developing the third season What if…? animated series, and it was revealed that Barbie will be the protagonist America Ferrera he joined the cast in a mystery role. This casting news was revealed by members of the creative team Matthew Chauncey AND AC Bradley during an interview on CB’s Phase Zero podcast.
It was revealed that Ferrera will be voicing a character called Ranger Morales. This is a character who appeared briefly in the comics, but they say he’s “almost an original character” for the series. Chauncey said, “Just for the clickbait; his last name is Morales, people were very excited about it.”
Bradley went on to talk about Ferrera, saying, “She’s amazing. I’m so happy that she gets her flowers when it comes to Barbie, because — I shouldn’t say this, but hey, I don’t work at Marvel anymore — Barbie was my movie favorite of the year, my favorite superhero movie, because Barbie is a hero. And so is America. It was the best. So, we’re so happy that she was willing to participate and do this part in this episode random What If…?. He was so adorable about it.”
We actually got our first look at Ranger Morales in What if…? Previously released Season 3 clip featuring Red Guardian and Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier.
