Teaser trailer for the animated series ARCANE season 2 on Netflix

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the second season of its hit League of Legends animated series Arcane. This is a series I’ve been dying to watch. The first season was absolutely incredible and I’m so excited to see how the story continues with the next season.

The preview video shows the character Singed sitting in a dark room and has tubes coming out of his arm through which blood flows. He also reveals a giant creature with glowing green attachments attached to it and is hanging above Singed as an ominous music box plays.

Hailee Steinfeld AND Ella Purnell will reprise their roles as sisters Vi and Jinx in the series, who find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict in the utopian city of Piltover and its poor underbelly, Zaun.

Season 2 has been in development for years and when talking about why Season 2 took so long to develop, Riot Games CEO Nicolò Laurent he previously said: “It’s not ready and there yet [are] two reasons for this. One, you want quality. We just don’t want to rush and so it takes time. So that’s the good reason. The bad reason is that, honestly, we didn’t know if Season 1 was going to be a success, so we didn’t start Season 2 until [later]. If I had known, we could have started season two much earlier. But we didn’t know, so we waited a while and now we’re paying the price. So, unfortunately, it won’t be this year.”

Arcane Season 2 will also be produced by Linke Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung AND Thomas Vu. The series is directed by Pasquale Charrue AND Arnaud Delord.

Here’s how Netflix describes the animated story of Jinx and Vi: “In the midst of growing unrest between the wealthy, utopian city of Piltover and its seedy, downtrodden underbelly of Zaun, sisters Vi and Jinx find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict seething with conflicting beliefs and arcane technologies.”

Arcane Season 2 will arrive in November 2024.
