Steve Burton announces return to “General Hospital” with special surprise birthday appearance



I didn’t see it coming! During Policlinico: 60 years of stars and stories Special, Steve Burton seemed to announce his return to the long-running soap opera. The 53-year-old stepped out with his co-stars. Laura Wright AND Kelly Monaco.

In the final moments of the special, a series of doors appeared. Laura came out and said, “You know what they say…when a door closes.” Kelly walked through another door and added, “Another door opens.”

In his statement, Steve noted that “when one door closes, several doors open. This has always been my perspective. So I’m excited to see what the future holds and maybe one day, if these mandates are lifted, I can come back and finish my career like Jason Morgan. It would be an honour. And if not, I will enjoy this incredible experience, move on, and be eternally grateful. Just 3 years later, Steve calls it quits and returns as Jason Morgan.
