Adam Driver answers the question of whether or not he will return to the STAR WARS universe to play Kylo Ren

Adam Driver he has appeared in many films and TV shows throughout his career, including feature films BlackKkKlansman AND Marriage historywhich got him Oscar nominations and his participation in the TV show Girlsas well as appearances on the comedy sketch show Saturday evening live, which led to four Emmy nominations. But no matter what he does in his career, he will always be known as Kylo Ren Star Wars universe.

As for whether the actor thinks he could ever return to the role like so many others Star Wars characters who came before him, Driver doesn’t think that’s a possibility.

In a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast (via ComicBook), Driver was asked if there was any chance he would one day reprise his role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise. He replied: “They are doing things, but not with me. I will not do it again.” When asked if this was because Kylo Ren’s story had reached its natural conclusion, Driver replied, “Yes.”

Previously, speaking about Kylo’s story arc on The Rich Eisen Show (via SuperHeroHype), Driver said: “I had an overall story arc in mind that [Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams] he wanted to do, which later changed, but his idea was that: almost the opposite journey of Vader, where Vader starts out the most confident, the most committed to the Dark Side and, in the last film, the most vulnerable and weak. He wanted to start from the opposite, this character was the most confused and vulnerable and, at the end of the three films, he would be the one most committed to the Dark Side. I tried to keep that story arc in mind regardless of whether it ended up not being the journey, because it changed, obviously, as we were shooting. But I was still focused on that.”

I think it’s smart that Driver has completed his arc with the character and isn’t looking back. He has much more interesting things to do with the future of his career than he does.
