Christopher Nolan he is praising the director Zack Snyder once again, this time for its influence on the superhero and science fiction film genres. Nolan chose Snyder to helm Man of Steel for DC, which is based on a story Nolan invented together with the dark Knight trilogy writer David S. Goyer.
Nolan is obviously still a huge fan of Snyder and his cinematic work, and has nothing but good things to say about him. Nolan must have had a very positive experience working with Snyder. During a recent interview with The Atlantic for a profile spotlighting Snyder, Nolan said:
“There isn’t a sci-fi superhero movie out these days that I don’t see some influence from Zack. When you watch a Zack Snyder film, you see and feel his love for the potential of cinema. The potential of him is to be fantastic, to be exalted in the reality of him, but to move you and excite you.
Not everyone likes what Snyder puts out, and while I don’t like everything he does, I appreciate the fact that he’s out there trying to do his own thing and pump out original content. Plus, even though his stories aren’t uniform, he always includes incredibly interesting visuals in his films.
Snyder has been working mostly with Netflix recently, and while it’s nice that they give him the creative freedom to make the films he wants, it sucks that those films aren’t being released theatrically so audiences can see them on the big screen.
Snyder’s most recent film is Rebel One – Part One: A Child of Firewhich was a huge hit for Netflix.
