Marvel fans argue that the blip ruined the MCU and that it is a long-term narrative

Here’s something to spark a conversation with your family and friends while you hang out with them at Christmas! A Marvel fan has shared some interesting thoughts about the MCU and claims that The Blip ruined the MCU and the Multiverse saga.

Since the Infinity Saga ended Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios has struggled to move forward and the lack of quality storytelling and other things have now led to more superhero fatigue. Their latest film, The wonders, was a box office disaster for the studio. Marvel is not in a good place right now.

Let’s face it, Kevin Feige it spread and the narrative suffered as a result. Now, a fan on Reddit suggests that the problems may have originated from The Blip and the aftermath of the five-year time jump. Here is the argument put forward:

I’m not sure how much I want to delve into the topic here, but I thought I’d let my general thoughts be known, but I think “The Blip”, while an interesting development to set up the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, was, is, and will continue forever to being a stain on the MCU’s narrative. It’s such a major, universe-shattering event that needs to be addressed, and when it isn’t, plans feel incomplete.

I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was the first time in a long time that I was sitting there, enjoying an MCU movie. But there was something nagging at the back of my mind:

Has the High Evolutionary been blipped? Did it influence his experiments? Did the Blip affect the populations he created? The same thing came to mind while watching Moon Knight. I wanted to know if Marc was blipped or if he was out of Moonknighting during the five year gap. None of these projects really address this issue, and I feel like the further we get from Infinity War, the less it will be addressed, despite an entire generation of the entire universe having to deal with the repercussions.

It doesn’t help that when they try to address it as a major plot point, it kind of fell on its face (FatWS).

It’s just going to be a big elephant in the room that fans who have been watching it for years will think about, but I’m afraid it’s going to be mishandled from now until it gets retconned or whatever.

I don’t think The Blip is the main problem of the MCU, there are bigger issues that need to be addressed like the quality of the storytelling and filmmaking. But The Blip was certainly handled poorly and inconsistently. I see how this has become a problem and I’ve found myself wondering the same thing this Reddit user is wondering.

It should also be noted that the five-year gap has also proven to be largely irrelevant. There’s something really interesting to explore there, but Marvel didn’t go very deep and now they’re just avoiding it.

It’s a shame that they created something so cool and then didn’t really know what to do with it./ What are your thoughts on that!?
