HBO has released a new trailer for its upcoming drama series The regime. Kate Winslet stars in the political thriller/dark-satirical comedy series that tells the story of a year within the palace walls of a modern European regime as it begins to crumble. Sounds like a great show!
This show centers on a “crumbling authoritarian regime.” Winslet plays “the Chancellor (a dictator) of a fictional Central European autocracy, facing internal turmoil that threatens her grip on power.”
It’s also in the cast Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, Hugh Grant, Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodmann, Stanley Townsend, Louie Mynet, Rory Keenan, Karl Markovics AND Pippa Haywood.
The series is directed by Stefano Frears (High Fidelity, The Queen) AND Jessica Hobbs (The Crown, Broadchurch), and was written by Will Tracy (The menu), who is also executive producer and showrunner.
The regime will premiere on Max on March 3, 2024.
