Lionsgate’s White Bird returns to theaters

EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate’s sequel to the $315 million worldwide film Wonder, White Bird: A Wonder Story, returns to the cinema release calendar with a new date of October 4, 2024.

The film will be a counter-program for Warner Bros. continued on this day, Joker: Folie a Deux.

white bird is directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Mark Bomback, based on the book by RJ Palacio. The film was previously scheduled for a limited release on August 18 and an extended release on August 25, but the premiere had to be delayed until next year due to the actors’ strike. In white bird, Bryce Gheisar stars as Julian, who has struggled to fit in since being expelled from his previous school for his treatment of Auggie. To change his life, Julian’s grandmother (Helen Mirren) finally tells Julian her own courageous story: During her childhood in Nazi-occupied France, a boy protects her from mortal danger. They find their first love in a breathtaking, magical world of their own making, while the boy’s mother (Gillian Anderson) risks everything to protect them.
