James Gunn has been completely open about the progress on social media Superman legacy and shares details about the upcoming DC Studios film.
The studio’s co-head recently revealed a storyboard shot announcing the film with David Corenswet as the titular superhero.
“Berwer??!! Well, probably not. I’m constantly drawing Superman Legacy images and storyboards on everything,” Gunn shared in Threads. “Here’s one I just sent to my department heads about how close the shot we were talking about have, would be.”
When a fan asked what was happening in the shot, Gunn explained, “The camera moves back with the character. To me, the solid arrows are camera movements, the thin arrows are the subject movement.”

Another big topic fans are excited about is the costume Superman will wear, and Gunn teased that the design is almost done.
“The costume is mostly done, but we’re still working on some elements,” Gunn told Threads.
Regarding the music for the film, Gunn added, “A lot of the music — maybe even most of the main themes — has already been written.”
The Superman legacy The director also teased that the opening sequence of the DC Studios logo will change when his DCU debut arrives.
With the film’s music already underway, a fan asked why a composer hadn’t been announced yet, to which Gunn replied: “I’m not sure the deal is done yet.” I’ll have to check it out. (And yes, I know it sounds crazy since a lot of the score is already written, but when you ride the wave of inspiration, what are you going to do? I wrote most of the score peacemaker and everything Creature assignments before I had a settled case!)”
Superman legacy is on track to premiere on July 11, 2025. Corenswet is joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. The cast also includes Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced and Nathan Fillion.
