Earlier this week it was reported that James Gunn Superman: Legacy would introduce a new version of Supergirl into the DCU. This would lead to her solo film, Supergirl: the woman of tomorrow.
Now, a new report has surfaced from John Rocha about the latest episode of The Hot Mic, that one External banks AND Glass Onion star Madelyn Cline is in talks to play Kara Zor-El, or is she an actress Gunn and Warner Bros. are considering for the part.
These are just rumors, but the young actress would be fantastic in the role. The 24-year-old actress definitely looks like Supergirl! She’s the first name rumored for the role, but there’s no doubt that Gunn is looking for several young actresses for the role.
The film is currently starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Mercede as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo like Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer.
This was also recently announced Sara Sampaiothe Portuguese Victoria’s Secret model, was cast as Eve Teschmacher, the assistant and sometimes lover of the scheming villain Lex Luthor.
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
