Tyler Webber, 33, is facing trial in Nebraska after being accused of raping an 18-year-old female guest before his wedding, People reported.
According to the 18-year-old victim, she was helping prepare for the wedding celebration and stayed overnight in the house alongside the groom, the bride, and other guests. Late in the evening, as she walked down the stairs with a blanket, Webber approached her and grabbed her by the waist. The woman attempted to break free, but Webber pinned her to the staircase.
The victim stated that Webber then dragged her to a couch and raped her. Following the attack, she informed her husband and her father about what had happened. On their advice, she went to a hospital to undergo a medical examination to document the sexual assault.
Forensic Evidence and Legal Status
Forensic examination confirmed that DNA samples belonging to Webber were found on the victim. Webber made no comment regarding the incident, and he is currently awaiting trial.
The case follows a separate incident in Pennsylvania, where 38-year-old Zachary Prouty was accused of raping a female friend after his wedding. DNA analysis in that case also confirmed the woman's testimony.
