DUNE: PART TWO It’s almost three hours long

The running time for Duna: second part the running time has been revealed, and with a running time of nearly three hours, this will be that director’s longest film Denis Villeneuve has done so far. The exact length of the sequel is 166 minutes, which is approximately 2 hours and 46 minutes.

With all the commercials and trailers you have to watch when you watch a movie these days, the complete experience of watching this movie will last more than three hours. Looks like we’re having fun at the movies! Just for comparison, Blade Runner 2049 it lasted 2 hours and 44 minutes.

The director keeps saying that the next film will be bigger and more epic than the first. Speaking about it previously he said: “The first film was more contemplative – a young man discovering a world. Well, it’s a war film. At the center is a love story between Paul and Chani. How Paul will earn her trust, how she will open her heart to him, and how they will find a way to free the world of Chani from the grip of the Harkonnens. It’s a much more emotional film.”

Dune is a mythical and emotionally charged hero’s journey and tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), “a brilliant and gifted young man born with a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to secure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence – a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential – only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”

The next chapter of the story will explore the “mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of vengeance against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with the choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he attempts to prevent a terrible future that only he can predict.”

Also includes returning cast Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh BrolinAND Stephen McKinley Henderson. New cast members include Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler in the role of Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux like Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoub like Shishakli.

The film will be released on March 1, 2024.
