“The game continues.” Lionsgate has officially announced that it will develop I saw XIand they revealed that the release date is September 27, 2024, which is the same release winder as I saw X.
They haven’t revealed any details for the movie, but I saw X it actually told an interesting story of the franchise and was set between the events of the first and second Saw films.
The film follows a sick and desperate John Kramer (Tobin Bell) who “travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover that the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous assassin returns to his work, turning the tables on crooks in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.
The goal of that film was to make a film that “captures everything Saw fans love the franchise, but at the same time it keeps them puzzled with new traps and a new mystery to solve. I think he succeeded.
There’s no word on whether Bell will return to the franchise again, but it’s unlikely. I think Lionsgate should give the franchise a rest… unless they really have an amazing and unique idea that will blow fans away.
What do you think of Lionsgate’s desire to continue bleeding this franchise?
