The Bikeriders heads into the summer after Focus Features picked up the new Regency pic

The only other title currently scheduled for this weekend is an untitled film from Universal.

Starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Norman Reedus, the film follows the rise of a Midwest motorcycle club, the Vandals. Looking at the lives of its members, over the course of a decade the club evolves from a gathering place for local misfits to a more sinister gang that threatens the original group’s unique way of life.

Cyclist made its world premiere at Telluride and earned an 85% fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

20th Century Studios was originally scheduled to release the crime thriller in theaters this past weekend, December 1-3, but the actors’ strike last fall prevented the film from gaining even greater acclaim.

Focus Features previously worked with Nichols on his drama Loving, The film celebrated its world premiere in Cannes in 2016 and received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for Ruth Negga.
