Eli Roth wants to return to the familiar territory of gory horror films. The director recently revealed that he wants to make more Hostel and Cabin Fever films. These are the films that put the director on the map and he believes there are more stories to tell with them.
Speaking with CinePop for a new interview, Roth revealed: “There’s still a lot to do in Hostel. I would love to go back to the hostel sometime. And also cabin fever. They are a part of me. They are like my children.”
She went on to explain, “I feel like I’ve ignored them for too long, and I’d like to get back to them in some way. I have some ideas. I would direct it. I don’t want it in anyone else’s hands.”
It makes sense that I would want to go back and play in the sandboxes of these horror franchises. I liked Cabin Fever, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Hostel movies. Regardless, there’s no doubt that horror fans would be interested in seeing how Roth would evolve these franchises.
Roth recently released his Christmas horror film Thanksgivingand is currently developing a sequel, which will be released in 2025. Maybe after that he will get to make a new Hostel or Cabin Fever movie.
Obviously, by doing Thanksgiving rekindled his passion for his work in horror films. Are you ready to see Roth do it again? Cabin fever AND Hostel movie?
