Marvel shares the first promotional video for AGATHA: DARKhold DIARIES

Marvel Studios has released a first look video for the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Darkhold Journals. This is the spin-off series of WandaVision that brings back Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. In the video, Hahn and the creative team members involved talk about the series, how it came to be, and how excited they are to tell this story in the MCU.

Hahn says, “We knew we had something special on our hands, but I think we were all blown away by the reception. People were hungry for something that was nostalgic and something that everyone could sit back and watch and look forward to on a Friday night.”

Head writer Jac Schaeffer explained that she pitched a number of projects to Marvel, but “everything I pitched included an Agatha storyline,” at which point Marvel boss Kevin Feige suggested she simply develop an Agatha series .

Darkhold Journals is described as a “dark comedy” in the MCU. The last time we saw Agatha, she attempted to take Wanda Maximoff’s magic for herself, and Wanda trapped her in the “Agnes” persona.

The description for the first episode of the show reads: “In the first episode we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally manages to free herself from the spell she was trapped in. She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she’s helpless. The only way out for her is to embark on a dangerous quest to regain her powers with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”

The series is also the protagonist Aubrey Square in the role of Rio Vidal, Patti Lu Pone plays Lilia Calderu, e Sasheer Zamata plays Jennifer Kale. Joe Locke also appears in the show but is only listed as “Teen”. Ali Ahn she plays a character named Alice.

Other returning cast members from WandaVision include David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, AND Kate Forbes. They merge Deborah Jo Rupp AND Emma Caufield who are also returning cast members.
