Oscar-winning actor Brendan Fraser returned to the spotlight after winning his first Oscar earlier this year for his performance in the heartbreaking drama, The whale. He recently appeared in Martin Scorsesehistorical drama, The Flower Moon Assassins, in which he had a small but memorable role. Now she has chosen her next starring role with the film Searchlight Pictures, Family for rent.
Beef director Hikari he will direct from a script he collaborated on Stefano Blahut. Hikari has been developing the project since 2019 and will produce it alongside Shin Yamaguchi, Eddie Vaisman and Julia Lebedev of Sight Unseen Productions.
“The story follows a down-and-out actor living in Tokyo who is hired as a token American boy for a family-run Japanese rental company, leading him on an unexpected journey of self-discovery through the roles he plays in the lives of others . . ”
Production will begin this spring in Japan. I can’t wait to see Fraser in another leading role.
