The end of Loki Season 2 seemed to wrap up the story of Loki’s TVA adventure for good, but many fans are still wondering if the story will continue with a third season. The first season of Loki ended with a post-credits screen confirming that “Loki will return in season two”. But when Loki Season 2 is over, there was no ending tag saying Loki would return for season 3.
So what does the future hold for TVA and Loki? Series co-executive producer Kevin Wright shared that they’re thinking about how to continue these stories, telling CB:
“We’re certainly thinking about how we can continue to tell the basic stories of TVA and Loki. What I would say is that Season 1 and Season 2 were always conceived as two chapters of the same book. We want to close this book. I think there’s but there are many more books on the shelf.”
So, the door is definitely open for other stories based on this series, but I also like to think that the events of this series will feed into other projects. For example, I’d like Thor to find out what Loki did to save the multiverse. There’s a very interesting story to be told there, but I have no idea if it will ever be told. Marvel tends to create these big storylines that change the MCU and then never really revisit them. I hope this doesn’t happen with Loki.
