What is “Air Benders” about?
The nine-episode miniseries is a war drama based on the book of the same name. The plot follows the U.S. Air Force’s 100th Bombardment Group, also known as the “Bloody Hundred,” as it drops bombs on Germany during World War II. The airmen must battle freezing temperatures, lack of oxygen, and terrifying dangers as they fly fighter planes over the war-torn region, all while trying to end the war.
The show also explores the psychological perspective of the pilots and the heavy toll the war took on them.
Executive produced by big names like Tom Hanks AND Steven Spielberg, masters of the air It is expected to receive good reviews for its gritty portrayal of aviators.
Production began in 2021 but was delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
