Today we have a special gift for you, with the music video of the recently released song, “Occasionally,” a song previously written by the Beatles that had never been released. I got to hear the song on the radio the other day, but it was so much nicer to watch the video and hear their voices together while the song was being composed. For John Lennon’s vocals, they were isolated from a home demo recorded 45 years ago, in 1978. At the time, the recording quality was poor, but the mechanical separation technology of the Peter JacksonWeta has innovated for Take up again made the capture of this track possible.
George Harrison recorded his guitar for the song in 1995, Ringo and Paul recently returned to the studio to record their own parts and create new harmonies, a new string section was established and the magic was made.
You can enjoy the song’s music video below, which integrates the studio sessions used to create the song, as well as old footage of the band when they were all together. You can also check out the short documentary that takes you through the entire process of bringing this song to fans. Enjoy!
