Netflix has shared the fantastic opening title sequence of Edgar Wright’S Scott Pilgrim takes off anime series and, as you will see… it becomes a real anime! It definitely establishes the energetic vibe of the series, which I’m really excited to experience. This show is going to be amazing!
The eight-episode series is based on Bryan Lee O’Malleythe series of Scott Pellegrino the graphic novels and the original cast of Wright’s live-action film have returned to voice their characters.
Scott Pilgrim takes offreturning cast includes Michele Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the role of Ramona Fiori, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson in the role of Invidia Adams, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Aubrey Square as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzmann as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons in the role of “Young” Neil Nordegraf, Marco Webber as Stephen Stills, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.
When previously talking about the project, the showrunner of the series and the EP Ben David Grabinski says the show will have “incredibly large” action sequences that could only be achieved in the medium of animation. He explained: “There’s a long fight sequence in episodes 2 and 3 that, if it were a live-action movie, would cost more than Avatar. If you made a live-action movie of the show that we made, I think it would be the most expensive movie ever, and you’d shoot it for ten years.
Wright said: “Over the years fans had asked me if there would be a sequel to the film or some other kind of continuation. I knew a live-action sequel was unlikely, but I usually put off suggesting that perhaps an anime adaptation was in order.” an interesting way to go. And then, lo and behold, one day Netflix got in touch to ask us for exactly this idea. But even better, our brilliant creator Bryan Lee O’Malley had an idea that was much more adventurous than a simple way to go. adaptation of the original books.”
