Taron Egerton (Kingsman, Tetris) will star in a thriller film titled She rides shotgunand is based on the novel of the same name written by mystery author Jordan Harper.
Egerton takes on the role of Nate, “a newly released criminal who has made a series of dangerous enemies. After finally getting out of prison, he vows to start over, which means taking down the powerful gang he worked for behind bars. When they vow to take revenge by hunting down his family, Nate runs away with his 11-year-old daughter, Polly, who he barely knows.
As they embark on a desperate race to shake off Nate’s enemies, “Polly must learn to survive – and Nate watches her transform from a shy girl into an impressive force. Meanwhile, the father, an ex-convict, learns to love unconditionally.”
The film is directed by Nick Rowland (Calm down with the horses) from a screenplay written by Ben Collins AND Luca Piotrowski (The House of Night). It looks like it will be a good project for Egerton as it’s something a little different to anything he’s done before.
Producer Brad Weston said in a statement: “We are so excited to bring this adaptation of Jordan Harper’s wildly successful and completely enthralling novel to the big screen. Taron Egerton is an amazing artist and we are so excited to be working with Nick Rowland, who will bring real depth to their relationship.
Production on the film will begin in early 2024.
