Director Zach Creggerthe hit horror film of 2022 Barbarian is getting a video game adaptation. The game was developed by New Regency Pictures and Diversion3 Entertainment and will be set in the world of Barbarian.
Diversion3 has developed some horror movie games in the past and those include Friday the 13th: The Game AND Evil Dead: The Game, which are actually really well made games! So, it seems like this Barbarian game is in good hands and I’m sure they will deliver a disturbing game.
Yariv Milchan, President and CEO of New Regency Pictures, released the following statement regarding the game: “Expanding the Barbarian universe into video games offers a new way to capture the horror that made the film such a success. We are thrilled to partner with the incredibly talented team at Diversion3 Entertainment to immerse new and existing fans into this world.
The game will tell a new story instead of replicating the story told by the movie, which I like. I love when stories are expanded into other mediums like this.
The film follows a young woman who arrives at her Airbnb late at night only to discover that she has been mistakenly double-booked and that a strange man is already staying there. Against all common sense, she decides to stay the night anyway, but soon discovers that there’s a lot more to be afraid of in the house than the other guest in the house.
THE Barbarian the video game currently does not have a release date.
