Chandler Riggs he is best known for playing Carl in the horror series Walking Deadand now he’s taking on a new genre role in the upcoming film Violated. The film was written and directed by Shane Brady (Breathing happily), and Riggs stars opposite Owen Atlas, Collin Thompson AND Augie Duke. Production on the independent film will begin in Los Angeles and Tampa, as SAG-AFTRA has secured a tentative agreement to begin production amid the union’s ongoing strike.
Violated was partially inspired by true events. Producer Emily Zercher AND Shane Brady they were hacked in 2021 and the first ten minutes of the film are based on their experience. The rest of the film shows “what they wanted to do to that bastard”.
According to the official logline, “Violated follows the story of a family who loses everything to a prolific and elusive hacker, aptly named “The Chameleon.” Parents Amy (Augie Duke) and Marco (Shane Brady) stole $20,000 and their sons Ralph (Owen Atlas) and Freddy (Collin Thompson) are hacked into their entire digital lives: social media, video games, and even their useless online homework! When the bank, social media platforms and law enforcement are unable to help, the family takes matters into their own hands.”
The family’s children, passionate about murder documentaries, are the only ones capable of confronting the hacker.
Riggs commented on taking on the role of “Chameleon” saying, “This is such a fun story that I can’t wait to be a part of. It’s been great working with Shane and his entire team so far, and I love independent films like this. I can’t wait to get back to work!”
The film is also the protagonist Hugh Scott, Brittney Escalante, Glenn Stanton AND Elissa Kim.
