Evelyn Lozada announced that she has ended her engagement to LaVon Lewis in an interview with Us Weekly published on Thursday.
The 47-year-old reality TV star and the 42-year-old entrepreneur got engaged in December last year after appearing on the dating series “Queen’s Court”, which aired on Peacock last March.
The Basketball Wives star, who briefly dated Marc Anthony, has since opened up about the end of their relationship, which she attributed in part to the short duration of their relationship.
“It happened so fast.” Six months later we were engaged and I felt a little disconnected. And the distance he lives in Atlanta was also very, very difficult,” she said.
Lozada also explained that Lewis’ family life and her commitment to exploring their romance on camera became problems.

She said: ‘He has a son who I believe is a freshman or going to high school. There were a lot of moving parts and it just started getting difficult and I thought, “I don’t want to just pretend it’s the world.”
The entrepreneur later noted that she was unable to form a strong bond with Lewis while working at Queen’s Court.
“You ask 1,000,001 questions when you’re dating these different guys on the show. And we tried to spend as much time on it as possible. He traveled to LA at least once a month,” she said.
Lozada explained that their amicable split was ultimately “the right thing” and that she was “happy that we could just be adults and friends.”
She also said that she wished Lewis would find “a wonderful wife”. I will be at his wedding. He is a great person. I’m just glad he’s not bitter and we’re not in a negative situation. I don’t feel all divorces have to end like this.”
Lozada went on to discuss her previous marriage to Chad Johnson, which lasted just over two months in 2012.
The reality TV personality ended her relationship with the former football player after he was arrested for domestic violence, to which he ultimately pleaded not guilty.
The entrepreneur also spoke about how Johnson’s behavior has affected her views on relationships in the years since her divorce.
