As you know, Giovanni Carpenter loves video games. In fact, she would rather play video games than direct movies. The director and gamer thinks one of his classic ’80s films would be perfect for a video game, and that film is Big trouble in Little China.
While talking to CB about what other films he’s made that would make a good video game, Carpenter says his 1986 Big Trouble in Little China is perfect for an adaptation. He explained:
“I don’t know. I think maybe… Big Trouble in Little China, it seems like a fun and entertaining video game. There’s also, by the way, a Thing card game. I mean, there are a lot of these games In reality there is a They Live [board] game. I don’t know if there would ever be a Prince of Darkness game. I do not see it.”
I think that a Big trouble in Little China video game would be awesome! It could tell a completely new story set in that mystical, fantasy world. It would be fun to see Jack Burton’s story continue in video game form. Kurt Russel might even provide the voice!
There was a comic sequel developed by Carpenter, which was great, but I’d like something new and different. Carpenter should start working to make this happen!
