GARGOYLES will receive a live-action series adaptation from producer James Wan and writer Gary Dauberman

Disney Studios is finally officially moving forward with a live-action adaptation of the hit ’90s animated series Gargoyle! The news comes from THR and they report that the project is produced by James Wan and the screenplay was written by Gary Daubermann.

They report that Dauberman will write, executive produce and serve as showrunner on the series with Atomic Monster, which is Wan’s production company. Dauberman and Wan have worked together on several projects over the years, including a couple of Annabelle movies and The nun movie. He also worked on the big screen adaptation of Stephen King IT.

There’s a solid team of talent here trying to bring Gargoyles to life, and fans can only hope they do the project justice.

Gargoyle is an incredibly well-crafted series known for its dark tone, complex plots, and rich character development. The series centers on a group of nocturnal creatures known as gargoyles, who turn to stone during the day and come to life at night.

These gargoyles once protected a medieval Scottish castle, but after a betrayal they were cursed to remain in stone until the castle rose above the clouds. A thousand years later, wealthy businessman David Xanatos carries the castle to the top of his New York skyscraper, awakening the gargoyles.

Now, in a modern world, the gargoyles, led by Goliath, must navigate the complexities of contemporary society by facing various adversaries, both human and supernatural, and dealing with the traumas of their past.

I loved this show and it would be great if the production enlisted the help of those people who actually developed the animated show to make sure they do it really well and capture the spirit of the show.
