DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Vincent D’Onofrio Responds to Layoffs – ‘I Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way’

Yesterday it was reported that Marvel Studios has fired its two lead writers and directors for its upcoming series Daredevil: Barn Again. This news seems to have surprised and shocked many fans, but do you know who wasn’t surprised? Actor Vincenzo D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin in the series. In fact, he explains that this is a typical entertainment industry thing and that he “wouldn’t want it any other way.”

The actor shared his thoughts on relationships X said:

“Every interesting project I’ve been involved in has constantly evolved through pre-production, production and post. These days it’s just reported as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s simply a group of creatives doing their thing better to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly, I’d be worried if we settled for less. We’ll put out the best series we can. One we can be proud of. Have a little faith, my friend , have faith.”

Yes, it makes sense to me. This is Hollywood. During the time that production was suspended due to the strikes, less than half of the 18-episode season had been filmed, and Marvel executives, and president Kevin Feige, reviewed footage from the series that had been filmed and determined that. .. It was not like this. it does not work.

So, main authors Chris Ord AND Matt Cormanand all directors for the remainder of the season were fired. The decision is “part of a significant creative reboot of the series.”

The sources said Corman and Ord “created a legal procedural that bore no resemblance to the Netflix version, which is known for its action and violence. Cox didn’t even show up in costume until the fourth episode. Marvel, after greenlighting the concept, found itself having to rethink the show’s original intention.

Marvel Studios is looking to hire new writers and directors to join the project before restarting production. I hope they actually fix things and deliver a show that’s at least as good as what Netflix gave us. Netflix’s Daredevil has set the bar high… so good luck to them!
