I think it’s safe to assume he’s the director James Wan’S Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom it will be another disaster for Warner Bros. and DC. There’s always a chance it could surprise us and exceed expectations, but it doesn’t feel like a film the studio has faith in, especially after Shazam! The fury of the gods, FlashAND Blue Beetle all rather bombed at the box office.
The film was recently met with some controversy over the production, including accusations that Jason Momoa he showed up on set drunk and stuff like that Amber heard she was almost fired because she didn’t have good chemistry with the actor.
Variety also reveals that the film is still experimenting in the 1960s, despite all the reshoots and multiple attempts to make it a watchable film. An insider says, “The movie is like an echo of regimes. It’s the last remnant of the Snyderverse and no one really wants to take ownership of it.”
It was previously reported, “Test screenings of this film were not good,” also stating that they felt “something happened with this film that almost never happened in test screenings.” It is believed that something that almost never happens involves the people who walk out of the film.
The studio is trying to do damage control as one source claims the sequel was finished on time, under budget, and with only a week of filming, but based on this and many other reports, I doubt that’s true.
As for what we can expect from the film at the box office, according to Exhibitor Relations box office analyst Jeff Bock says, “Everyone is against DC, but there’s a chance, especially with limited competition during the holiday season, That Aquaman they might still sound like gangsters due to the lack of product. Sometimes the right film at the right time is all you need.”
The first Aquaman film grossed over a billion dollars at the box office and is the highest-grossing DC film to date. While there’s a chance the sequel could do well at the box office, I seriously doubt it will get anywhere near that billion dollars.
