Ever since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios regained the rights to all of their mutant characters, fans have been eager to see and be curious about what the studio will do with the X-Men team .
Well, it looks like the journey to rebooting the X-Men Marvel Studios film franchise will begin soon. With the writers’ strike now over, Marvel is ready to accept writers’ proposals for its own X-Men movie!
According to Deadline, “Marvel will begin holding meetings with writers later this fall to pitch pitches on its eagerly awaited X-Men film. Insiders add that there is no rush to fill the job as the film has not yet been dated, and it is more than likely that the decision on the writer will be made in early 2024.
So, we have a long way to go before a new one X-Men the movie actually gets made and hits theaters, but that long process is about to begin and it’s pretty exciting!
In the meantime, we have Deadpool 3 upcoming, which will see Deadpool on a journey with Wolverine from Fox to Disney, and will reportedly include a bunch of characters for Fox’s X-Men universe along the way. So, this will be the closest thing to an X-Men movie before Marvel introduces the official MCU version of the mutant superhero team.
It will be interesting to see if this brings the X-Men into the MCU or if Marvel has a different plan in mind that isn’t really connected to the events of Deadpool 3.
