Remake in development for the horror films CHRISTMAS EVIL and SISTERS by Brian De Palma

Pressman Film, the production company behind the development of films like Wall Street, American psychoAND The Ravenhas several new projects in development, including The Raven restart, Antonio Fuqua’S The streetwhich was written by Those good guys‘ Nicola Pileggi, and an adaptation of Edward Abbey’s 1975 novel The Wrench Gangwhich will be directed by Catfish‘S Henry Joost AND Ariel Schulmann.

While they are working on these, they are also looking to develop remakes of the 1980 Christmas horror film Christmas evil AND Brian DePalmais a 1972 psychological horror thriller Sisters. These are not classic films that most people deem untouchable, in fact, most general audiences have probably never heard of them before. But it’s still Hollywood regurgitating old material instead of creating something new.

Christmas evil was written and directed by Lewis Jackson, is described as “Comic holiday scare. A toy maker basking in the Christmas spirit suffers a mental breakdown when his work encounters hypocrisy and cynicism and he goes on a holiday killing spree. The film is the protagonist Brandon Maggart, Jeffrey DeMunn, Dianne HullAND Andy Fenwick.

In De Palma Sisters, “Curious journalist Grace Collier is horrified when she sees her neighbor, model Danielle Breton, violently kill a man. Panicked, she calls the police. But when the detective arrives on the scene and finds nothing wrong, Grace is forced to take matters into her own hands. Her first move is to recruit private investigator Joseph Larch, who helps her uncover a secret about Danielle’s past that makes them see double.” The film starred Margot Kidder, Jennifer Sale, Charles Durning, William FinleyAND Lisle Wilson.

Another Pressman title being considered for a reboot is the 1992 crime thriller Bad lieutenant. In that movie Harvey Keitel “He’s a corrupt cop riddled with gambling debts who uses his authority to sexually harass teenage girls, embezzle money, and abuse drugs. His problems come to a head when a mafia lackey issues an ultimatum: pay off his debt, or else. His fate seems sealed. But when the lieutenant discovers that a $50,000 reward is being offered to anyone who captures a pair of thugs who raped a nun (Frankie Thorn), he jumps at the chance, hoping he can still redeem himself.
