Star Trek: The Next Generation star Patrick Stewart he really wants Paramount Pictures to produce a Star Trek: Picard movie. He’s actually actively pushing the studio to make a movie for the big screen.
Speaking to Time Magazine, Stewart shared his desire to bring Captain Jean-Luc Picard into a film alongside the Enterprise crew, but he’s looking to do something different. He explained:
“I’m gently pushing Paramount to let us make a single Picard movie. Not a next generation film, as we’ve already made four. This would be an expansion and deepening of the universe as we saw it in Star Trek: Picard. I discussed it with Jonathan [Frakes]Brent [Spiner]and LeVar [Burton]and they’re all in on the game.
While Paramount+ said that the ending Star Trek: Picard The season is the final adventure of the Enterprise-D crew, the entire cast of the show wants to come back for more! Stewart had previously spoken about wanting to make a Picard movie, saying:
“I think we could make a movie, a movie based on Picard. Not necessarily on Picard but on all of us. And take a lot of these wonderful elements, particularly from the third season of Picard, and extract from them what I think could be an extraordinary movie . I keep telling people and mentioning it, and so far there hasn’t been any enthusiastic response, but it could very well happen. And I think that would be a very appropriate way to say, ‘And goodbye folks.'”
I would love for Paramount to make a Picard movie. I would be more interested in this than in seeing JJ Abrams continue to do his thing Star Trek 4 movie. It’s crazy to me that Paramount executives haven’t jumped at the opportunity to do this yet.
