Review: Zordon Dice Tower and GM Screen for POWER RANGERS Gaming

Earlier this year, Renegade Game Studios sent me one of their Zordon Dice Tower and GM Screen. This can be used with Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid board game e Power Rangers RPG. Inside you’ll find a Zordon tube-shaped dice tower and two panels with all the same information as the original GM screen. If you like what I have to share below, you can purchase your own Zordon Dice Tower and GM Screen from Renegade with an MSRP of $70.

Aesthetically, the Zordon Dice Tower and GM screen look great. I wish the tower was a little taller to line up better with the GM screen, but it’s a bit of a pain. It helps with immersion and to create the atmosphere during the game. From a GM perspective, I question the layout on the side with the information. On the original GM screen, the background is a soft off-white color and the text was really easy to read. With the new GM screen, the background is colored more blue and pink. Everything is still readable, but not that readable in my opinion. That said, all information appears to be the same between the two.

If you want to further customize your 9-inch Zordon Dice Tower, it’s really simple. You can remove the clear tube and paint the rest as you see fit. Thankfully, I wouldn’t say the tube really needs a paint job to look good.

In my opinion, a weak point of the Zordon Dice Tower is the fact that all the rolls happen in front of the board. For Grill heroes, this is not a big deal. However, when playing a Power Rangers RPG, I wish I could turn the base or something so the dice could go behind the GM’s screen. I don’t do a lot of rolling in front of the GM’s screen and so for me the dice tower makes a nice tabletop decoration for most roleplaying sessions, unless my players want to use it.

Ultimately, I think the Zordon Dice Tower and GM Screen is a really fun luxury item for fans of Power Rangers Renegade games. The versatility of the dice tower can be used for both role-playing and Grill heroes It definitely gives him an extra boost. Additionally, the GM screen helps create a great atmosphere for your gaming sessions with useful information. Additionally, you can paint the tower if you want a more personal touch. There are a couple of things I would change and the price seems a little high, but if you get into the mindset that this is not a necessity, but rather a luxury to improve your Power Rangers game nights, this is a very solid option.
