A teaser trailer for the Netflix biopic crime drama has been released. Griseldahero Sofia Vergara (Modern family) as the real-life Colombian drug lord, Griselda Blanco. From the creators of the acclaimed Netflix show Narcosthe limited series is written and produced by Ingrid Escajeda AND Narcos showrunner Eric Newmannwith Escajeda as showrunner. Andres Baiz is serving as joint director and executive producer Luis Balaguer, Doug MiròAND Carlo Bernardo.
Vergara is joined in the series by Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Martin Rodriguez, José Zúñiga, Maximiliano Hernández, AND Juliet Restrepo.
The film’s logline reads:
“Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Colombian entrepreneur Griselda Blanco, a devoted mother who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. In 1970s and ’80s Miami, Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspecting ferocity and charm helped her deftly juggle business and family, leading her to become widely known as “the Godmother.”
It looks like it will be fine! Vergara is a great actress and she made a total transformation in this role. Check out the trailer below and watch Griselda on Netflix on January 25, 2024.
