Mission Impossible franchising director Christopher McQuarrie is getting fans excited for his next chapter Tom Cruise action movie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2. The first part hit theaters this summer to rave reviews, and McQuarrie will release the second half next year. While we wait, fans are having fun dissecting Easter eggs from the first film, and McQuarrie is laughing at the fact that he put a major gem hidden in plain sight, and no one has figured it out yet!
In the recently released Empire podcast spoiler special dedicated to all things “Dead Reckoning” (via /Film), McQuarrie teased:
“People haven’t figured it out yet. It’s right there in front of you. You’re so busy looking for Easter eggs… there’s one right on the screen, right in front of you, and maybe two people have chosen up. And it’s a damn casting announcement and it’s in the movie. In the movie, right on the screen!”
This is pretty wild! It seems like he’s saying it’s something pretty obvious, but it’s so strange that no one has pointed it out yet. Maybe once Surrender of the Dead, Part One is available to rent and own digitally on Tuesday, October 10, fans will be able to watch it frame by frame and get to the bottom of this mystery!
