Here’s a trailer for an upcoming horror film called Found Footage Malibu Horror Story. The film centers on a team of amateur paranormal investigators as they delve into the disappearance of four famous high school students on graduation night ten years earlier.
In the story, “While exploring a sacred cave in the hills of Malibu, California, the team encounters chilling paranormal events. As they analyze camera footage of the missing boys, they make a terrifying discovery involving an ancient curse that forces them to face their worst fears and reveal the sinister truth behind the boys’ disappearance.
The film comes from the director Scott Slone, who said: “I’m a big fan of the found footage subgenre and wanted to try to do something different with the format and structure of how a traditional found footage film is presented. Our story is told through different perspectives, timelines, and layers of media compiled over the course of several years. The goal was to incorporate all of these elements and place them within a conventional horror film structure that would not only appeal to found footage enthusiasts, but also to a broader horror audience.”
Slone shot the film over the course of ten years with 30 different cameras and various codecs. A lot of work went into this and I hope it pays off! This looks like it could be a fun horror movie if you like found footage movies.
Movie stars Dylan Sprayberry (Adolescent, sick wolf), Robert Bailey Jr. (Night shift, Emergency), Valentina de Angelis (Gossip Girl), AND Rebecca Forsythe (Substitute). The film features a contortionist and creature actor The “twisted” Troy James (Nightmare Alley, HellboyAND Scary stories to tell in the dark) and actor/stunt The actor Douglas Tait (Annabelle comes home, Hellboy, AND Halloween kills).
Malibu Horror Story is scheduled for a limited run in select theaters on October 20, 2023.
