Netflix has released a teaser trailer for an upcoming Turkish thriller series called Creaturewhich is a retelling of Mary Shelly’s classic Frankenstein history. This version of the story is set during the Ottoman Empire, which is an interesting direction and setting for the story. It really looks like it’s going to be a good show!
Creature, is “an epic story that takes place in the final era of the Ottoman Empire and focuses on one of humanity’s most fundamental questions, ‘death and the afterlife.’ Ziya, an adventurous, rebellious, prosperous and intelligent young medical student, has the insatiable desire to become an excellent doctor and find a cure for infectious diseases. Ziya’s path crosses with Ihsan, a fellow doctor, teetering on the thin line between genius and madness. She is the only person who truly understands Ziya’s ambitions. However, these two estranged and wounded souls will pay the price for the forbidden experiment they dared to conduct. The ancient encryption they tried to crack could raise hell.”
The series was created, written and directed by Çagan Irmakand becomes the protagonist Erkan Kolçak Köstendil as İhsan and Taner Ölmez as Ziya, with Engin Benli, Şifanur Gül, Bülent Şakrak, Sema ÇeyrekbaşıAND Devrim Yakut.
Creature will be streamed on Netflix starting October 20, 2023.
