A trailer has been released for LaKeith Stanfieldthe next film project of The Book of Clarancewhich is a biblical era epic written and directed by The harder they fall director Jeymes Samuel. It definitely looks like an interesting and unique movie as the story centers around a man named Clarence (Stanfield) who goes on a journey to be like Jesus.
The film is described as a “bold new take on the timeless epic of the Biblical era.” In the film, “Stupid but down on his luck, Clarence is struggling to find a better life for his family as he struggles to get out of debt. Fascinated by the power and glory of the nascent Messiah and his apostles, he risks everything to carve his own path to a godly life, and ultimately discovers that the redemptive power of faith may be his only way out. The film features new music from Jeymes Samuel, JAY-Z and more.
Joining Stanfield in the film are RJ Cyler, Omar Sy, Anna Diop, David Eyelowo, Michael Ward, Alfredo Woodard, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James McAvoyAND Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Book of Clarence will be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
