DEMETRA’S LAST JOURNEY is already available to watch at home

Dracula-inspired movie recently released The last voyage of the Demetra it was a great Hammer-style horror film that, unfortunately, people didn’t go to the cinema. The film had a box office slump with just $15 million worldwide.

In an effort to recoup the budget, Universal Pictures has released the film digitally so you can order and watch it at home. You can now rent the movie for $19.99 or buy it in full for $24.99.

It sucks that this movie was so big at the box office because it was a really good horror movie worth watching on the big screen! It just came out at a time when Barbie and Oppenheimer were exploding at the box office. I also don’t think the studio did a great job of marketing. I guess we won’t see any more horror movies like this on the big screen for a while, which sucks.

The film was directed by André Øvredal (The autopsy of Jane Doe, scary stories to be told in the dark), the story of the film focuses on a chapter of Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel, is a unique story that follows the journey of Dracula as he terrorizes on the high seas. Also, the creature effects were done in a practical way and the work they put into it was very impressive.

It is “based on a single chapter, The Captain’s Diary, from Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel Dracula. The chapter tells the story of the Russian schooner Demeter, chartered to carry private cargoes – twenty-four unmarked wooden cases – from the Carpathians to London. The film will detail the strange events that befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, haunted every night by a terrifying presence aboard the ship. When she finally came close to Whitby harbour, she was a wreck. No trace of the crew”.

The movie stars Corey Hawkins (Kong: Skull Island, The Walking Dead), Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan KapicicAND Nikolai Nikolaeff, with Javier Botet in the role of Dracula.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check it out!
