Terror-fueled trailer for Shudder’s horror film V/H/S/85 starring Freddy Rodriguez

Shudder has released the first teaser trailer for V/H/S/85, and anticipates the insane and bloody terror that is in store for fans. In the film, “an ominous mixtape blends never-before-seen footage with nightmarish news and eerie home video to create a surreal, analog mashup of the forgotten ’80s.”

I like these V/H/S horror anthology films, and in this one, Freddie Rodríguez plays Detective Wayne Johnson, “a seasoned detective investigating a series of grisly murders while on the trail of an elusive serial killer.”

V/H/S/85 takes viewers on “a journey into the sad underbelly of the forgotten 80s. Unveiled through a made-for-TV documentary, five chilling stories emerge: scientists observe an unusual boy obsessed with TV, the teens embark on a skiing adventure on a lake, a camera crew struggles to survive a natural disaster, the The early days of virtual reality awaken something terrifying and a deadly dream is captured on tape. The sinister secrets of the 80s come to life in a way never seen before.

Rodriguez (Six feet below) will lead the cast of the film, and he will join him Giordano Belfi, James Ransone, Dani Deette, Rolando Davila-Beltran, Justen Jones, Marcius Moreno, Ari Gallegos, Forrest Hartl, Duffy McManus, Eric Pierson, Philip of LaraToh Reed AND Viviana Morse.

Segments in the film were written by Zoe Cooper, Evan Dickson, Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Mike P. Nelson, Gigi Saul Guerrero. Directors include David BrucknerDerrickson, Nelson, Guerrero e Natasha Kermani. V/H/S/85 is produced by Bruckner, Joshua Goldbloom, Brad Miska, Radio silence, James Harris, Michael Schrieber AND Adam Boorstin.

I haven’t seen Rodriquez much since he filmed Six feet belowbut recently starred in the Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga for the show’s final season, and will appear in the standalone film Days when the rains came opposite to True blood‘S Sam Trammell AND Beau Bridges.

V/H/S/85 will debut on Shudder on October 6.
