FX has shared a number of new details regarding the highly anticipated Fargo Season 5! We have first-look photos to share with you, story details, poster art, and the series will premiere on Tuesday, November 21st.
This next chapter in the series is set in 2019 in Minnesota and North Dakota. In the story, “After an unexpected turn of events comes Dorothy ‘Dot’ Lyon (Temple of Juno) in hot water with the authorities, this seemingly typical Midwestern housewife is suddenly thrust back into a life she thought she had left behind.
North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) “has been looking for Dot for a long time. Rancher, preacher and constitutional lawman, Roy believes he is the law and therefore above the law.
At his side is “the loyal but reckless son, Gator (Joe Keery), who is desperate to prove herself to her over-the-top father. Too bad it’s hopeless. So when it comes to hunting down Dot, Roy enlists Ole Munch (Sam Sprull), a dark wanderer of mysterious origin.
As her deepest secrets begin to unravel, “Dot attempts to protect her family from her past, but doting and well-meaning husband Wayne (David Rysdal) keeps running to his mother, Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh), for help. CEO of the country’s largest debt collection agency, the ‘Debt Queen’ is unimpressed by her son’s choice in a wife and spares no opportunity to voice her disapproval.
It is explained that “when Dot’s unusual behavior draws the attention of Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead (Richa Moorjani) and North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr (Lamorne Morris), Lorraine appoints her in-house counsel and lead counsel, Danish Graves (Dave Foley) to help the daughter-in-law. After all, family is family. But Dot has an extraordinary knack for survival. And with her back against the wall, she’s going to show why she should never provoke a Lyon mother.
I have enjoyed every season of this show and have no doubt that the next season will be incredibly fun to watch.
Fargo is produced by Noah Hawley, who is also showrunner, writer and director. Season 5 will consist of 10 episodes. Check out the photos below!
